FREE No-Sew Mini Frog Crochet Pattern

Ever since I created my first youtube video, I've been trying to come up with more beginner-friendly patterns, so after a lot of crocheting and FROGGING (hehe get it?), I came up with these NO-SEW froggies!

Like my mini mushroom pattern, you can use thicker yarn to create bigger frogs using this pattern! Like the one I made here:

Or you can turn them into keychains! I made this set for me and my boyfriend using size 3, DK yarn :)

These frogs are super easy and quick to make. If you're fast enough, you can make one in less than 30 minutes! But just another warning, you might find yourself with another mini army.

Materials:

  • Worsted-weight yarn in colors: green and cream

  • 2.75 mm hook

  • 3 mm safety eyes

  • Glue

  • Black embroidery thread

  • Scissors

  • Yarn and sewing needles

  • Stuffing

  • Stitch marker (I use paperclips!)

  • Sewing pins

Copyright:

Please do not copy or redistribute this pattern as your own. This mini, no-sew frog pattern belongs to me, @stitchingwithsab.

You may sell finished items made using this pattern! Just please give me credit to help support me and my art ♡

Terms

  • SC = single crochet

  • INC = increase

  • DEC = decrease

  • ST = stitch

  • RND(S) = round(s)

  • MR = magic ring

  • BO = bobble stitch

  • PBO = partial bobble stitch (tutorial on this stitch can be found in my mini mushroom pattern on my blog!)

Notes:

  • We'll be changing colors during this pattern. To indicate the color changes, All of the stitches with red font will be made using Cream yarn, not green.

  • Brown Font = green yarn

  • Red font = cream yarn

Frog Pattern:

Start with green yarn:

1) sc 6 in MR (6)

2) inc x 6 (12)

3) sc, inc, bo, inc, (sc, inc) x 2, bo, inc, sc, inc (18)

4) sc, inc, (sc 2, inc) x 5, sc (24)

5) (sc 3, inc) x 6 (30)

6) sc 6, pbo, sc 5, (change to cream yarn) sc 5, sc 4, pbo, sc 8, (30)

7-9) sc 11, sc 7, sc 12 (30)

10) sc 12, sc 6, sc 12 (30)

11) sc 3, dec, sc 2, pbo, dec, (sc 3, dec) x 2, sc, pbo, sc, dec, sc 3, dec (24)

12) dec x 12 (12)

13) dec x 6 (6)

Assembly:

1) Insert and glue 3 mm safety eyes into the eyes of the frog.

2) Use black embroidery thread and an embroidery needle to embroider a "v" shaped mouth onto the frog.

Your mini frog is now done!:

Hi, wheneve I make this, it's all fine until I get to the arms, they're always right in between where the eyes are (when frog is facing forward) and the belly is so of center, I'm following the pattern exactly, am I doing something wrong?

I found the instructions for the Partial Bobble Stitch in the blog for the mushroom. However, when I searched YouTube for instructions on the Bobble Stitch, it's the exact instructions for the partial bobble stitch. I'm so confused now.
